September 2010
HUSA was contracted by the City of Sacramento to inspect approximately 45,000 LF of combined sewers ranging in size from 60 inches to 120 inches in diameter. HUSA will be using the CleanFlow HD Profiler multi-sensor technology to perform the inspections. The technology continuously collects laser data (12x a second), sonar data (every 6-inches), and HD images within the sewer. The fieldwork is expected to start in September and be completed before the second week of October.

August 2010
HUSA just completed an EPA study with our CleanFlow HD Profiler, a multi-sensor large diameter inspection technology. The work was performed on sewers ranging in size from 48 inches to 54 inches in diameter in Kansas City. The purpose of the project was to evaluate the cost effectiveness of using multi-sensor technologies for the inspection of large diameter sewers.

August 2010
Hydromax was contracted by CDM to install and maintain 27 temporary flow monitors and 6 rain gauges in the City of Winston-Salem, NC. After the temporary monitoring period, HUSA will install 11 permanent meters with remote telemetry. These field services are in support of a comprehensive sewer study to address increasing inflow/infiltration (I/I), as well as to help establish wet and dry weather flows and capacity needs.

May 2010
Stu Bowns has been selected to present at several conferences this summer:

  • June 16 at Ohio WEA on the problem that cross bores create on private laterals
  • October 5 at WEFTEC2010 on a project using multiple inspection sensors to assess the condition of a large diameter interceptor.

These presentations should be valuable for owners, engineers and operators because they are based upon actual field experience.

April 2010
Hydromax USA began a distribution system leak detection program for Cape Canaveral, Florida. The work under contract to Inframetrix will investigate approximately 100 miles of active water mains at the Kennedy Space Center home of the NASA primary launch and land site. Just prior to starting the work the shuttle Atlantis lifted off from Launch Pad 39A. The Hydromax personnel did manage to see a Titan rocket lift off and are keeping a close watch on the launch schedule for other opportunities.

February 2010
Hydromax USA was awarded contracts from four engineering firms who will be performing Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys for the Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District. The work will include approximately 600,000 LF of smoke testing and CCTV inspection and 1,000 manhole inspections. The work is to be completed within a five month period.

November 2009
Hydromax USA was contracted by American Structurepoint to conduct 1,500 manhole inspections and smoke test approximately 600,000 LF for Lawrence, IN. The contract was awarded in mid-september. Hydromax needed to complete the field work prior to December 7, 2009 with deliverables provided by January 15th. As of November 3rd we had completed approximately half of the manhole inspections and all of the smoke testing.

October 2009
Hydromax USA began distribution system leak detection projects at multiple Air Force Bases across the United States. The URS Group contracted with Hydromax USA for work to include preliminary sounding and leak correlation coupled with extensive GPS locating efforts. Pipe material to include metallic, PVC and asbestos cement will be evaluated with the work to run through January 2010
